Key Volunteers

Our dedicated volunteers are the heart of our organization. There are many, many individuals – we call them our family – who have donated time and talents to keep the organization going by selling Spirituals Project merchandise at events, designing programs, copying music, coordinating events, and raising money. To all of you whose acts of kindness and unselfish giving are unnamed, we thank you for your continued support.

Harold and Claudia Fields
Choir Treasurer/Music Librarians

As the Music Librarians, Harold and Claudia manage the inventory of music used by the Spirituals Project Choir. They collect choir participant fees and ensure that choir members have current music and other supplies needed for rehearsals and performances. About the spirituals, Harold says: “It is important for me to preserve and share this ‘soul food’ because it has nourished my family and shown the resilience and determination of my people.”

Minnie Cassell
Choir Council President

Minnie joined the Spirituals Project Choir in the year 2000 and has been a dedicated member ever since. She has served the needs of the community as Choir Board Representation and on the Choir Council. Minnie is committed to ensuring that choir members not only share the music of the spirituals, but also that they do what they can as a “village” to carry the healing and hope into the community by organizing community service endeavors and other projects through which all choir members may be of service to others.

Rick Rogers
Merchandise Sales

Spouse of Spirituals Project Choir member RuthAnn Rogers, Rick is the bedrock of the event support staff. You’ll usually find Rick behind the The Spirituals Project merchandise table at concerts and other events, eager to help you purchase a CD or book, and happily singing the praises of being a non-singing member of the loving Spirituals Project family.
