Mini-documentary Video Project
One of the first concrete results of the efforts of the emerging Spirituals Project was a 20-minute documentary Balm in Gilead: The Legacy of African American Spirituals, produced in collaboration with KCNC-TV Denver (CBS Affiliate) in 1997. KCNC-TV and TSP now provide complimentary videocassette copies of this program to any school (public or private, at any level) that requests it. To date, more than one hundred and fifty copies have been distributed to schools in Colorado and around the country.
